Unite and Follow Jesus
Brothers and sisters in Christ, we need to unite and humble ourselves before the throne of God and plead for the saving of this nation, United States of America. Our nation has fallen to low, low levels. Like many are saying, we are at a crossroads. The future is so unclear; events can take two very different roads.
One thing I do know is that there is a very prideful man (Trump) out there stirring up hate and anger to an unethical and unlawful pitch. His followers are crazed with it. It is very serious and scary. I am sure glad that God is in control of it all.
Ted Cruz, on the other hand, is a man with manners, who is unmoving in his morals, level headed, articulate, unifying, has a proven track-record (therefore trustworthy), appreciates liberty, and has put his faith in Jesus Christ. He seems to be humble and caring too.
Please do not support Trump! If he does get the nomination, don't vote for him then either. And don't vote for Hillary Clinton either. I think that would be playing into their hand. I think Trump is there for show and perhaps distraction (and I guess rile people up too while he's at it) so that Hillary is a "shoo-in" with no resistance from the Republican ticket. So if Trump does get the nomination, please join me and write in a godly man, Ted Cruz. Please do share this idea with others! If we stand together, with God leading and protecting us, we can win!
I want to leave with a thought and a positive note. Thought: No matter what happens, souls are the most important! This is not just politics, this is a war against the greatest enemy, Satan, for people's souls and minds. Remember to love as Jesus did. Positive Note: Jesus Christ has won the war! We are victorious and free in Him!! We/I need to give Him honor by living that way. Ah, fully living. Let us take back what is ours in Jesus!
The battle awaits! I am excited to see the hand of God move!
Blessings,
Amy

Movies
Movies are such an influential tool God can use to change culture, country, and consequently, the world!
I keep hearing raving reviews on War Room! I am looking forward to when I can see it. It sounds like it has the potential to be life-changing, inspiring, and faith-building.
Beyond the Mask is on DVD now! Yay! I mentioned this movie several months ago. My dad and I went to see it in the theater while it was playing back in June. It was good. I especially liked how the female character, Charlotte, stays feminine even when she is being brave and/or shows spunk. Her character sets forth a good example to follow over all. I also especially liked how the clothing and props stayed true to history, from what I saw and can remember.
I've been waiting for Alone Yet Not Alone for about 3 years! It is finally out on DVD! I watched it with my dad and one of my siblings recently and liked it. I enjoyed the history, the action, the friendship of the characters, and how they help each other survive trials. The battle scenes, though, are violent (French and Indian War), so I wouldn't recommend it for youngsters or the tenderhearted. I personally looked away during those scenes. The rest, I liked.
And lastly, Return To The Hiding Place's DVD was released on September 15! Cool! It looks good, intense, and so timely.

Pride
Pride is the pillar of sin. The fact that the letter i is the center of the words pride and sin is a good reminder of this. Think about it; why do you not want to speak up for someone who is being harshly teased or bullied? It is likely that you are afraid of what the bully or others will think of you or do to you. That feeling is based in pride; you are being more concerned with yourself than others, which in essence is saying you're more important than they are. (We should be seeking to be channels of God’s love and be thinking, Who cares?! What matters is what God thinks!) Or why do you not let go of those worries and anxious thoughts rolling around in your head? I know for me, it’s because I want to know what’s gonna happen, that I’m going to be okay (in reference to what I’m worrying about). I want control. I don’t want God “to be able” to let hardships into my life. I have to laugh at myself…if I give my worries and the things of my life (e.g. - house, health, family, liberty/freedom, safety) to God or not, that doesn’t keep my future cozy and safe. I have no control, and really, I’m glad of it. Even if hardships/trials come, even if everything is stripped from me, God is still good. He is Holy, He is faithful forever, He is strength. He passionately loves us! So there really is no reason to fear… Anyway, my original point is that worry is another example of pride-based sin. It is usually selfish, which again is putting yourself above others, which is pride.
Since pride is so foundational to our sin, I believe this is one of the reasons God calls us to be humble. When we are humble, it completely demolishes pride, and thus, sin crumbles. It gives God room to work in a pliable heart.
